Server list

Auto update

Auto Update all servers in server list if it is visible: If a popup serverlist is activated (CTRL+L), the server information will be actualized. The server will be pinged constantly, and all server information, like number of players, will be received. At the Update Rate-entryfield the number of servers will be defined, which will be actualized every minute. An increase of this number is only recommended, if you have a broadband connection, because the data transfer between HLSW and the servers increases rapidly (60000 Maximum).

Only change server list order if mouse cursor is out of list

When enabled, the server list won't be resorted when the mouse cursor is in the server list area. This will prevent a server to 'jump away' when you want to select it. This is especially useful if the server list is sorted on ping or number of players.

Enable manual server add mode

Normally, a server will be added to the server list automatically when its IP is entered in the IP/Port inputbox and HLSW receives an answer for the first time from the entered server. When 'manual server add mode' is enabled, a server won't be automatically added. To add the server, the user has to press the Enter key after entering the IP and port number in the IP/Port inputbox.

Language

Here you may select the language of HLSW. After you have changed the language you may need to restart HLSW for this option to take effect.

Additional Options

Beep if someone enters the server

HLSW will beep when a new player enters the selected server. This is especially useful for administrators, who want to know when someone enters the server.

Automatically add player name with known WONID to WONID Database:

If activated, players will be automatically added with their name and WONID to the WONID Database. If the WONIDs are shown beside the player names at the playerlist, by using the Try to get the unique ID, WONID and ping of players (without rcon)-function or with the "Rcon-status"-command, all players will be added with their actual name and WONID to the WONID-database.

Minimize to system tray

When selected, HLSW will be minimized to the system tray. If HLSW is minimized, it will disappear from the task bar. Instead, an icon will appear in the system tray (the area next to the clock on the task bar). Double-click on the icon to restore HLSW to its original size.

Secure Mode: It is not allowed to write a file to disk

When enabled the user can't make changes to the computer's harddisk. This will disable several functions like import/export, saving server lists etc. The Secure Mode option is, in combination with the Settings Password, useful for Internet Cafés.

Port settings

Port adjustment:

Here the UDP-Port could be selected, which HLSW should use, if a port is already in use by another application. The scope is from 7130 to 7139. That the port switching can take effect, HLSW has to be shut down and started again. Beside the list the actual used port is shown, Actual used Port: 713x.
